OLI offers four principal kinds of professional services:

Customized Software and Solutions

Based upon our unique technology, OLI does develop software to solve problems specific and, if necessary, confidential to a client. Examples of projects of this type include simulation of electrokinetic remediation processes, modeling fluidized bed bioreactors, modeling of reverse osmosis and electrodialysis operations, modeling the dynamic response of a multistage neutralization process and the pH control loop, modeling of dehydration processes and simulation of an entire biotreatment plant including multiple substrates, feeds streams, bioreactors and recycle loops. OLI was able to provide specific software and/or solutions to specific problems in these cases.

Applications Building

Some clients are convinced of the power and accuracy of OLI's aqueous problem solving methods, but simply don't have the time to either learn or apply the OLI software to their particular problem.  Applications experts at OLI offer fast analysis of your application, and can take the lead in the setup, running and results presentation of your application.  This type of service has been used extensively in the areas of biotreatment, corrosion, and dynamic simulation.

Specialized Chemistry Databanks

Since clients often require special, and occasionally proprietary, chemistry, OLI's Data Service is available to provide development of chemistry databanks for specific chemical systems not covered by the current OLI Databank.

Sponsored Research

OLI technologists do undertake specific research projects sponsored by government or industry.  OLI's proven technology in the area of modeling aqueous chemistry provides the basis for research in a number of related areas. OLI is currently conducting sponsored research for the USA DOE and the USA DOC. OLI has been engaged in most projects with support from organizations such as the Gas Technology Institute (GTI), the American Gas Association (AGA), Southwest Research Institute (SWRI), Stanford Research Institute (SRI), Battelle Pacific Northwest Laboratories (PNL), Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and Los Alamos National Laboratories (LANL) to name only a few. In addition, our association with numerous Universities such as Rutgers, Johns Hopkins, Clemson University and Polytechnic University, as well as our numerous industrial clients, have resulted in successful research in fundamental science. Projects have included research in cesium removal from salt solutions by ion exchange, electromigration in soil, corrosion in air conditioners which are subject to the latest generation of working fluids, salt accumulation in membrane processes, corrosion under disbonded coatings external to gas pipelines and many others.
