As wells age, brine production rates increase and with it, mineral scale potential. In addition, water management must now consider frac water compatibility, optimum mixing rates for injection waters, and compatibility of brines injected into disposal wells.

Corrosion in pipelines
OLI's Corrosion Analyzer has been effectively used in combination with a fluid flow model for pipelines, to calculate the chemistry effects on the rate of corrosion for a given T, P, and composition.
In this case, the fluid flow model output is used to steer the corrosion rate calculations in Corrosion Analyzer.
Corrosion Analyzer can also supply dew point information, it can calculate the condensate and the composition of the condensate at any point, and it can generate real-solution Pourbaix diagrams that show the corrosive and passivating speciation for a given T, P, and composition in contact with a metal surface.Learn more

ScaleChem is predictive to 300 C (600F), 1,500 bar, 70 wt% electrolytes (Na+,Ca+2, Cl-, etc.), and 60 wt% methanol or ethylene glycol. In addition, ScaleChem simultaneously computes scale tendency and deposition at key process points.
OLI Stream Analyzer + OLI Flowsheets
When expanding applications to include MEG or methanol regeneration, OLI's MSE model in the Steam Analyzer provides an upgrade to the ScaleChem software. Stream Analyzer is a superset of ScaleChem's calculations, presented in a more generalized interface. Ultimately, upsteram clients sometimes move into one of the OLI flowsheet packages for applications that are multi-stage or multi-unit with recirculation streams.
