OLI Engine in IDEAS
Now it is possible to combine the rigor of OLI’s electrolyte approach with your preferred flowsheet simulation package. When you need an electrolyte model within your flowsheet simulator, OLI recommends one of our Alliance Partner's products Learn more
By specifying OLI as a property package within any of our Alliance Partner products, you can accurately account for the electrolytes in your system. This technology uses the same OLI Engine found in OLI stand-alone products.
OLI is grateful for each of our Alliance Partner relationships that allows us to offer OLI "under the hood" of your favorite flowsheet simulation system.
Please know that OLI remains steadfastly "Alliance Partner Neutral" and recognizes each companies unique strengths and market positioning. Whichever package you prefer, OLI will work with you to maximize the benefits you receive from your simulation investment. |
OLI Pro
OLI Pro is a steady-state electrolyte process simulator that uses Honeywell’s UniSim Design flowsheet simulation shell. Both the OLI Aqueous (AQ) model and the OLI Mixed Solvent Electrolyte (MSE) model are available as property methods in this software.
When you have an electrolyte-only or an electrolyte-primary system where OLI thermodynamics are sufficient for your flowsheet, OLI Pro is a powerful simulator with an interface that will be familiar to your Aspen HYSYS and UniSim Design simulation specialists.
Full flowhseet capabilities
Building blocksinclude tanks, mixers, tees, 2-and 3-phase separators, heaters, coolers, air coolers, exchangers, LNG exchangers, pumps, compressors, valves, relief valves, absorbers, distillation columns. Electrolyte specialties include crystallizers, precipitator, neutralizer and a solids separator.
Adjuster, set, and recycle blocks combine with material and heat streams for maximum process definition flexibility.
Hydrocarbons in OLI Pro
Both ESP's AQ and Mixed Solvent Electrolyte (MSE) models accept pseudocomponents and hydrocarbon components as part of process input.
UniSim Design flowsheet shell
Standard features in UniSim Design are available in OLI Pro such as material balance calculators, spreadsheet calculator and sub-flowsheets.
OLI thanks Honeywell
OLI thanks Honeywell for the use of the UniSim Design in order to offer OLI Pro.

OLI ESP
The Environmental Simulation Program (ESP) is a powerful but dated steady-state
electrolyte process simulator. ESP has addressed simulated aqueous chemical processes for a wide range of markets.
Unit operations include neutralizers, absorbers, strippers, extractors, reactors, incinerators, crystallizers, compressors, exchangers, dehydrators and saturators, as well as standard split, separate, mix and component split. Specialized operations (requiring client data for parameters for tuning) include membrane, electrodialysis, bioreactors and clarifiers.
Flowsheeting and control
Process flowsheeting with multiple recycles and control
loops are allowed in ESP. Feedforward and feedback controllers and
Manipulate blocks help to achieve process specifications
Hydrocarbons in ESP
Both ESP's AQ and Mixed Solvent Electrolyte (MSE) models accept pseudocomponents and hydrocarbon components as part of process input.
Sensitivities The Sensitivity Block in ESP allows the user to determine easily
the sensitivity of output results to changes in Block
Parameters and physical constants.
Dynamic simulation with control
The dynamic response of a process can be studied using OLI's dynamic simulation program, DynaChem,
to examine control strategy, potential upsets, scheduled waste
streams, controller tuning, and startup/shutdown studies. Studies of pH and
compositional control, batch treatment interactions,
multistage startup and shutdown, controller tuning,
multicascade and adaptive control are all possible.
DynaChem comes with an OLI ESP license. |
